The All Progressives Congress has raised the alarm of a plan by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayose, to mobilise for a protest against its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, in London.
Buhari is scheduled to appear at the Royal Institute of Public Affairs, Chatham House on Thursday.
The APC, in a email sent out by a member of its Digital Strategy Team, Gbenga Olorunpomi, alleged that Fani-Kayode had mobilised some people in London to protest against Buhari at Chatham House.
The aim of the protest, the email message stated, is to create the impression that Buhari is not wanted in London.
The email message reads: “We have received this on good authority. This message filtered in this morning reliably from source.
“We have received information that Femi Fani Kayode has paid some boys to mobilize Nigerians in the UK to protest against Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday (26/02/2015) at Chatham House. This is to create a wrong signal that Nigerians are happy with President Good luck Jonathan and probably embarrass Gen. Buhari before the international community. The bad light synergy was revealed by one is his agent, and we craving to ask why?
“Gen. Buhari is to present a lecture on the same day at Chatham House, London titled: ‘Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition.’
“We hereby urge Nigerians home and abroad to be red alerted of every antics of PDP and its nefarious agents.
“Femi Fani Kayode attitude is known to all. We cannot afford to keep quiet and let him play by his evil antics.”
