Though he has engaged in serious underground campaigns and consultations across the state after he has been allegedly given the green light by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the ambition of a former Accountant General of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, to become the next governor of the state is not going to be rosy despite the assurances he seemed to have got.
As the news of his preference continues to go round, some people are peddling the rumour that the governorship aspirant actually exhumed the remains of his late father from Epe in Lagos State and went to re-bury him in Ilaje, Ondo State, with the belief that a royal head does not “sleep” outside his jurisdiction.
This development is one of the strategies we learnt they intend to use against Ambode when the time is ripe.
The claim is that Ambode is not from Lagos State but from Ondo State.
Several stories have made the rounds on this but Ambode has continuously denied it.
