Northerners have vowed to retaliate if Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State insists on going ahead with his policy of registering Northerners residing in the state.
Senator Ahmed Lawan threw the bombshell while contributing to the motion sponsored by Senator Abdul Ningi on issuance of identification cards to Northerners residing in Imo State.
Lawan, who expressed dissatisfaction with the policy of Okorocha, blamed the Federal government for the insecurity problem facing Nigeria.
According to him: “How did we find ourselves where we are today?
“Who did not do his job well?
“If it is allowed, it will be like that of South Africa where blacks were issued identity card.”
Lawan said the security situation in the country is as a result of improper action of the Peoples Democratic Party.
