Ogba area of Lagos State was on Monday morning completely locked down as Oba Mufutau Hamzat, the father of the Deputy Governor-elect of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, is being buried.
As early as 9am, the whole area had started witnessing huge traffic snarl as dignitaries arrived for the burial.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, Oba Hamzat, who is the traditional ruler of Afowowa Kingdom in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, will be buried in his Lagos home in Ogba.
He died on Sunday, aged 86.
As at press time, more dignitaries were still pouring in for the burial, with the operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency putting up spirited efforts to manage the situation.
However, the lack of parking spaces, except on the major College Road, has made the work tedious for the LASTMA officials.
The two-lane road on each side has been reduced to one each, with inner streets already jam-packed.
