Martins’ goal lifts Seattle in MLS

Fit-again Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins, made the scorers’ chart in Sounders Seattle’s 4-0 demolition of Earthquakes in the Major Soccer League tie on Sunday.
The weapon of mass destruction, as Martins is popularly known, was introduced on the 55th minute and capped the festivities with a goal in stoppage time, followed by his customary backflip celebration.
Lamar Neagle grabbed a brace, just as Mauro Rosales and Obafemi Martins in the spectacle in front of 38,880 fans at CenturyLink Field banged in one goal each to extend Sounders Seattle’s unbeaten streak to five games.
Meanwhile, reports have it that Martins is the highest-paid player in Seattle’s history with $1.600,000 as salary and $1.725,000 as guaranteed compensation.
The former Inter Milan goal poacher is also fourth in the league when it comes to salary and fifth in guaranteed compensation.
