Chukwuebuka Enekwechi on Monday won the silver medal for Nigeria at the ongoing 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, setting a new personal best in the shot put event.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Enekwechi threw a distance of 21.14 metres to clinch second place.
New Zealand’s Tomas Walsh won the gold medal in the event, setting a new Games record of 21.41m.
Tim Nedow from Canada came third with a distance of 20.19m which was his season’s best.
Also, Nigeria’s Eke Kalu finished 12th in the finals with a throw of 17.86m.
NAN reports that the games which began on April 4 will end on April 15.
