Turkish club banned from registering new players

World football ruling body FIFA on Friday said it has banned Turkish Süper Lig clubside, Trabzonspor, from registering any new player, either nationally or internationally, for one entire registration period.
According to a report on the FIFA website, the club was sanctioned by the Bureau of the Players’ Status Committee.
It added that the ban was on the basis of art. 12bis par. 4d) of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.
It stated:“Following a review of the case, the club was notified of the decision on January 29, 2018 which was subject to payment of an outstanding transfer fee due to AS Trenčín of Slovakia within 30 days of being notified about the decision.
“As a result, Trabzonspor are banned from registering any new players — either nationally or internationally — for the entirety of the next registration period.’’
