The Enugu State Boxing Association has picked La Nuava Hotels as the venue for its two-day boxing competition scheduled to hold in the state on November 9 and 10.
Speaking to News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Sunday, the Enugu State Boxing Coach, Blaise Ude, said the choice of was reached during the association’s recent meeting in the state.
Ude noted that the competition would enable his boxers to prepare well for the forthcoming National Sports Festival holding in Abuja in December.
He said the competition was for all categories of boxers and open to all who wished to participate.
He said: “We are getting ready for the boxing competition and La Nuava Hotels will be a good venue because we need something new from the previous outings.
“November 9 will be the day of arrival of the boxers and other logistics, while November 10 will be the day of the competition proper.
“I want to meet the NSF deadline for submission of boxers’ names and details for participation.”
Ude assured that a good medical team, good officiating and security would be in place for the competition and called on boxing enthusiasts to turn out in large numbers and enjoy the sport.
