A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Chief Jethro Akun, has declared his intention to run for governorship in 2015 under the ruling party..
He told newsmen in his Jos home on Tuesday that he would obtain the nomination form ahead of the primary when the time comes.
Akun who served briefly as Deputy Governor in 2006, during the short-lived Michael Botmang regime as Plateau Governor, said he has consulted widely before taking a decision to run for the governorship.
On the zoning arrangement, he noted the three zones of the state have always presented themselves for election since 1979, adding that there has never been a meeting in which the three zones have discussed and agreed to anything on the zoning question.
His words, “Everyone from all parts of the state reserves the right to aspire and this is a constitutional guarantee”.
