McGregor announced he is retiring from MMA for the third time in four years on Sunday, despite making his long-awaited comeback just in January.

“Hey guys. I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been!” the 31-year-old McGregor wrote on his Twitter account, posting a picture with his mother at one of the World title wins.

The former heavyweight world champion has said he will fight three more times – including against Deontay Wilder next month – before hanging up his gloves.

Former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi has announced he will retire at the end of the season to pursue a career in coaching.
