In a statement, the Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, quoted the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Bamire, to have described the incident as “deeply painful and distressing”, noting that the university community is united in grief over the loss of a young life filled with promise.
According to Dr. Lasisi Olagunju in a post on his Facebook page, the bronze statue was donated by Prince Yemi Shyllon.
