The closing ceremony took place in Sector 1 Tactical Headquarters at Umuahia, Abia State between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday
The forum comprised of heads of military and para military organizations in Enugu State, National Emergency Management Agency and the staff of the State’s Management Agency.
The meeting was as a result of the latest clash between Osopong Community and Ogorude in Ebonyi and Cross River States on 1st September 2017 where seven persons were allegedly killed and two others were wounded.
Abubakar spoke when a team of Senior Army Officers, led by the Director of Information AHQ DCMA, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, visited the Division for a one-day sensitization campaign on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law to the officers and soldiers of 82 Division.
The GOC gave the commendation on Monday at the Nigerian Army Language Institute, Ovim in Isuikwuato Local Govenment Area of Abia State, the venue for the conversion exercise.
While addressing officers and soldiers of the Battalion, the GOC reminded them of the vastness and porosity of the Battalion’s AOR and the necessity to do more in the service of the nation
The visit to the scene was aimed at seeing things for himself and unraveling the causes of the conflict, the damage and destruction committed by the warring parties and to consult with the traditional and religious leaders, including youths of the areas, with a view to finding a lasting solution to the crisis
