The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has condemned the suspension of 10 members of the union by the management of Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi, said the institution would revamp ailing local industries in its host communities through Corporate Social Responsibility.
Dibal Yakadi, Commissioner of Police, Niger, confirmed on Monday that one person was killed and 13 suspects were arrested in a clash between the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) members and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
Its Rector, Dr Abubakar Dzukogi, told News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Bida that the gesture was to boost staff morale for better performance.
He stated this on Tuesday in Abuja when a delegation from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, visited him at the party’s National Secretariat.
The Rector gave the warning while addressing the 2,500 new intakes as part of the matriculation of the institution.

The Chairman of the Governing Board, Prof. Mohammed Yahaya, made this known when he led members of the board on a visit to the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, in Bida on Saturday
