The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned one Mede Oghenerume, alias Benjamin David, on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence and internet fraud to the tune of $12,650 before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on March 5, 2020 presented three witnesses, who, testifying before Justice F. O. G. Ogunbanjo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, revealed how the former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, Nicholas Mutu Ebomo; his companies: Airworld Technologies LTD and Oyien Homes LTD, allegedly received more than N4.8 million gratification from oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has filed a lawsuit asking the Federal High Court, Abuja to order the 36 State Governors in Nigeria to “publish details and breakdown of payment of pensions to each of the former governors and other ex-officials, and the names and number of ex-governors and other officials receiving pensions under their respective State pension laws between 1999 and 2019.”
