In my address to the nation last year, I did emphasize that we were in a sober moment in our country. We are still in that mood in spite of the many accomplishments of our administration. Our sombreness has to do with the crises of nationhood occasioned by the activities of terrorist elements who have done the unimaginable to challenge our unity as a people

Dr Ahmed urged Nigerians to use the 54th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence to rededicate themselves to the ideals of national development, unity and cohesion even the face of obviously daunting socio-economic challenges

The governor noted that the result achieved in the fight against Ebola was a foretaste of greater feats that would be recorded “in the various sectors of our national life if we remain united and tackle our challenges as one people”
