Operatives of the country’s security agencies in Imo State have agreed to team up against the Indigenous People of Biafra over its decision to enforce the call for residents of the South East States to observe a sit-at-home order on September 14, 2018.
Among those working together to ensure the sit-at-home order is not enforced by IPOB are the Department of State Services, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Prison Service.
Their decision was announced after a joint meeting at the headquarters of the Imo State Police Command in Owerri on Monday.
Among those that attended by the Commissioner, Imo State Police Command, Dasuki Galadanchi; 34 Artillery Brigade Commander, Obinze, H. I Bature; and the Director of the DSS in the state.
Speaking to newsmen after the about one hour meeting, Galadanchi said the essence was to ensure that members of IPOB do not use the sit-at-home order to cause trouble.
He said: “The heads of all the security in Imo State are working together.
“We are here to tell the world that we are saying no to the proposed sit-at-home order on September 14 by IPOP.
“We want to tell members of the public that anyone who has any genuine business on that day to go about his businesses.
“We have resolved among ourselves to protect the citizens.
“IPOB members should remember that where one person’s right ends, the other person’s own begins.
“Imo State must be great in our time.
“The sit-at-home order by IPOP is at variance with the law.
“Anybody who tries to threaten law abiding citizens in the name of sit-at-home will have the security agencies to contend with.”
Bature said: “We advice the pro-Biafra group to explore lawful channels in pressing home their demands rather than threatening public peace.”
