The Ekiti State Government has asked the impeached Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, to return all government’s property in his possession with immediate effect.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Modupe Alade, also called on the police to provide the full paraphernalia of office to the new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dele Ogungbemi, and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Abeni Olayinka, without delay.
The state government also warned trouble makers to stay out of the state.
It warned that the law enforcement agents would not allow anybody to foment trouble.
Congratulating the new speaker, the state government said it was prepared to work with the new leadership of the House to move the state forward.
The SSG called for a cordial working relationship between the new House leadership and the Governor Ayo Fayose-led administration in order to move the state forward.
The government, however, advised the lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress who are on self exile to return to home to perform what they were elected to do.
The statement added: “They should not stay in exile if truly they were elected.”
The government advised Ekiti State people to go about with normal duties and continue to give their support to the administration of Governor Ayo Fayose.
