Portugal and Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award for a fourth time to cap an impressive 2016 for club and country.
The Portuguese superstar beat out the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and perennial rival, Lionel Messi, to take home France Football magazine’s coveted award.
Ronaldo, who moves within one of Messi’s record of five Ballon d’Or, was the overwhelming favourite after a stellar 12 months in which he won Euro 2016, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
