Senator on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday kicked direct primaries ahead of 2023 general elections.
The lawmakers while contributing to the debate on Amendment on section 87 (1) claimed that some political parties may not have the capacity to organise direct primaries.
Senators Eyinnaya Abaribe among other PDP Senators spoke against the proposal by the Senate Conference Committee which is chaired by Senator Yahaya.
The eagleonline had earlier that the Senate approved direct primaries for all political parties.
