PDP primaries: Reps loses Edo North senatorial seat

Hon. Abubakar Momoh, representing Etsako Federal Constituency, has faulted the process for selecting the delegates who voted in Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party primaries in Edo North Senatorial District, conducted in Auchi.

Momoh, a serving House of Representatives member, who defected from the All Progressives Congress to the PDP, lost to Pascal Ugbome.

Mohmoh scored 65 votes against Ugbome‘s 88, while Richard Lamai pulled 61 votes and Bobboy Ikazoboh scored 30 votes.

Speaking to journalists, Momoh said the list of the delegates was drawn by one person.

He said: “The list of delegates to the primaries was drawn by just one person and the same person directed the people on whom to vote.

“I want to take a look at the process before I can make my statement.

“But today nobody can fault the process of the primaries, but the process leading to the selection of delegates is very faulty.”

Ugbome expressed joy on his victory and solicited the support of other contestants for the victory of the party in the general election.

“We are one big family and I am positive that we are all going to join hands together to deliver Edo North Senatorial seat to PDP in 2015 general election,” he said.
