As President Goodluck Jonathan presents his mid-term scorecard to the nation, some former Heads of State were conspicuously absent at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, venue of the event.
Absent are former President Olusegun Obasanjo; his deputy, Atiku Abubakar; former Heads of State, Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar; and, curiously, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal.
In attendance are Vice President Namadi Sambo; the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan; former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon; former President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari; former Head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan; and a former Chief of General Staff, General Oladipo Diya.
Also present at the presentation, which is being broadcast live on national television, are the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party at the national level, ministers, presidential aides, top politicians and captains of industry.
Foreign dignitaries in attendance are Jesse Jackson from the United States of America, Amos Sawyer from Liberai and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
