Top officials of Rangers International FC of Enugu have boasted that they are poised to pick the three maximum away points this weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Flying Antelopes, as Rangers are fondly called, would meet Enyimba International FC of Aba in an away fixture to be staged on Sunday in the Garden city in a Nigeria Professional Football League Week 28 match.
Rangers’ spokesman, Foster Chime, said in a statement in Enugu on Friday that the players and technical crew had intensified training ahead of the encounter.
Chime said the Technical Adviser, Imama Amapakabo, and other coaches had vowed that the match would be a “must win” to keep the club’s hopes of staying within contention for the league trophy.
He said: “We will correct the lapses during our last match at which we drew, 1-1 at home with Lobi Stars of Markurdi.
“We have put behind us the home draw and now focusing on an away fixture against Enyimba in Port Harcourt.”
Amapakabo then urged the players to reproduce the 2-1 victory against Enyimba in Enugu during their first phase encounter in the league.
“Given the current form of the players and the motivation, nothing short of victory is expected,” the coach insisted.
The technical adviser commended the club’s supporters for their dedication and commitment to the team, pledging that players would do well to reward them with an outright victory on Sunday.
