NOA cautions electorate against vote buying, selling

The National Orientation Agency has cautioned the electorate in Kano State against vote buying and selling as well as political violence during the forthcoming poll.
Alhaji Garba Wada, the state NOA Director, made the call on Wednesday at a one day sensitisation campaign “Say no to vote buying”, held at Dawanau Internal Food Market in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, in line with the mandate of NOA, our duty is to awaken the consciousness of Nigerians.
Wada said: “The progaramme is aimed at mobilising the people towards the general election on vote buying and its negative effects on our democracy.”
He emphasised the need for a peaceful conduct of the election and called on the people to shun vote buying and selling.
The Sarkin kasuwa of the market, Alhaji Uba Ahmad, thanked NOA for the effort in educating the people on their rights as Nigerians.
He also advised traders in the market to caution their children and wards against electoral malpractice.
