The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that there is no plan to postpone Saturday’s election in Ekiti State despite the ongoing crisis there.
INEC said the crisis had nothing to do with the commission’s preparation for the election.
Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, disclosed this in an interview with a Punch newspaper correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday.
Idowu told The Punch: “INEC is not involved in the crisis going on in the state and we have no plan to shift the election.’’
