Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna has vowed to defeat visiting Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday in Minna to consolidate its position on the table.
Hamza Abara, Acting Head Coach of the team, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna on Friday.
According to Abara, the team is not in the mood to be defeated at this stage of the league because the team aims to win the league.
NAN reports that Tornadoes currently occupies 6th position with 34 points from 23 matches, while Wikki Tourists is 14th with 29 points from 23 matches.
Abara said: “We are not going to relax because there are no underdogs in the Nigeria Premier League.
“This is why we are planning to score more goals than we use to score in previous matches.
“There is no doubt that the visiting club is a good side and this why we are coming out with a formation to thrash them with good goal margin.’’
The coach said that the attack of the team had been sharpened to get good result.
Aliko Mustapha, the Captain of the club, was optimistic that they would win the encounter but cautioned that Wikki Tourists were a good side.
Mustapha said: “I know that it will be a difficult game on Sunday because Wikki is also a good side but we will defeat them because we are playing as one family and everybody is in high spirit to win.’’
