Ousted factional President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ambassador Chris Giwa, and former Nigerian international, Chief Segun Odegbami, have been disqualified from the body’s elective congress slated to hold in Warri, Delta State on Saturday.
Giwa, from Plateau State, North Central Zone and Odegbami from Ogun State, according to a statement made available by the Electoral Committee, were knocked off for failing to write to the body to express their willingness to participate in the elections.
Others disqualified were: Chief Obinna Ogba, Yahaya Adama, Farouk Yarma Adamu, Shema Mohammed Sani, Chief Obinna Ogba, Chief Effiong Johnson and Chief Obuah Felix Amaechi.
Thirty-six candidates, including Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Mike Umeh, Shehu Dikko, Amanze Uchegbulam and Pinnick Amaju, have been cleared to battle for the top seat in the Glass House.
However, an unknown Musa Gusau Ibrahim from Zamfara State has entered the new board unopposed and will serve as the Chairman of Chairmen.
Ibrahim replaces Chief Johnson, who was disqualified.
