MultiChoice Nigeria on Saturday treated members of the media to an unforgettable night of music, dance and variety of gifts at its annual year-end media appreciation party.
The event was organised as a mark of appreciation for the support provided by the media to the company’s success during the year.
Martin Mabutho, the General Manager, Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria, who was the host on the evening, thanked journalists for honouring the invitation to celebrate with the company.
Mabuthos said: “Today is about appreciating the men and women of the media, who worked with us in making 2015 an eventful year.
“As a business, we witnessed some high and low points, but we are grateful for the partnership we enjoyed with you all and we are poised to continue with this relationship into the coming year.”
Mabutho also expressed the company’s commitment and readiness to support the media whenever the need arises.
He said: “One of the ways we do this is by rewarding good journalism through the CNN/ MultiChoice African Journalism Awards, the benchmark for journalism excellence across the continent.
“This year’s edition saw four of our own win across various categories and we are truly proud of that.”
Journalists from both the print and online media establishments braved the traffic congestion witnessed over the weekend to celebrate with MultiChoice Nigeria officials at the company’s office on Victoria Island, Lagos.
Guests were entertained in a relaxed atmosphere to good music, food and drinks.
The event also featured dance and quiz competitions that saw some journalists go home with eye-catching prizes such as generators, LED TVs, DStv and GOtv decoders.
Media guests lauded MultiChoice on the event, saying it was a good way to end the year.
