Nigerian international, Obafemi Martins, has been shortlisted for the Major Soccer Soccer League’s Most Valuable Player award.
The pant-sized forward will slug it out with Robbie Keane of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Lee Nguyen of the New England Revolution.
Obafemi’s coach, Sigi Schmid, is gunning for his third career Coach of the Year award, as he, D.C. United’s Ben Olsen and Columbus’ Gregg Berhalter made the short list.
Sounders defender, Chad Marshall, is still in the running for Defender of the Year, while goalkeeper Stefan Frei is a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year.
Announcements begin November 24 and conclude December 4, with Coach of the Year coming on December 2 and MVP on December 3.
