Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has disclosed he has a clear idea of the 21 players he will take to the U20 World Cup in New Zealand later this month.
“I am fully clear on my final squad for the World Cup, but that is not to say there could be one or two gate crashers,” said Manu
Nigeria will submit a final 21-man squad on Friday, May 15, to FIFA.
Genk defender Wilfred Ndidi is expected to join up with the rest of the squad on Monday, while three other Europe-based stars – Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon – are still being awaited.
The Flying Eagles have been training in Nurnberg, Germany, for a week now.
On Friday evening they played a two-a-side game between the main team and the second team, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Chidera Ezeh and Bernard Bulbwa scored for the first team, before Wasiu Jimoh netted a brace for the other team.
They will play their first test match in Germany against Hoffenheim U23 team on Tuesday afternoon.
