Maigari must preside over NFF’s election

World’s football governing body, FIFA, has said that the Nigeria Football Federation must reinstate the removed Chairman of the Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari or face further sanctions.
In addition, FIFA said Maigari must preside over the upcoming election into the NFF Executive Board.
In a statement on Wednesday, FIFA said the July 24 congress that removed Maigari did not conform with procedures for the convocation of such meeting and circulation of agenda.
It equally frowned at the suspension of two executive members of the NFF, Chris Green and Yusuf Ahmed Fresh.
The world’s football governing body also expressed disapproval at the removal of some members of the Electoral Committee properly set up by the congress.
The letter added: “Taking into account internal divisions in the executive Committee, it is advisable that major decisions are frozen until election of August 26 and that focus will now be on the programs of the candidates and the development of Nigerian football.
“Finally, we like to advice that the legitimacy of the candidates who will attend the 26th August congress will not be questioned and we anticipate the congress will be composed of the delegates who participated in the November 2013 congress unless there have been changes statutory compliant.
“Furthermore, we advice you that President Maigari must preside over the NFF congress on 26 August.”
