The Lagos State Government has issued an advisory on the closure of Oke-koto/Agunbiade intersection of Pen Cinema Bridge in Agege Local Government Area.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Lagos State Government, obtained on Wednesday.
According to the advisory, the closure would last from October 21, 2022 to November 21, 2022.
It said this was part of efforts to rehabilitate the junction, which had been bad in the last two months.
The advisory said: “As part of efforts to carry out flood abatement works and rehabilitation of some sections of Oke-koto/Agunbiade intersection in Agege Local Government Area, which will be temporarily closed to traffic for a period of one month beginning from Friday, 21st October, to Monday 21st November, 2022 , the Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion plans for the duration of the rehabilitation works.
“However, the diversion exercise will not prevent motorists coming from Agunbiade and its adjoining streets from using the Pen Cinema Bridge inward Oba Ogunji road.”
The advisory said the State Government has directed all relevant Traffic Management Agencies, especially the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, to ensure free flow of traffic and Security Agencies to ensure safety for all while the repair lasts.
It also advised motorists to obey traffic signs that have been mounted along the construction zone in order to minimise discomfort on road users; apply caution when approaching the construction zone; and maintain situational awareness.
