The Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday approved the nomination of 15 persons from the 17 persons whose names were forwarded to it for approval by the state governor, Idris Wada, as commissioners.
The governor had on Tuesday presented the list of names to the House in Lokoja.
The Speaker, Alhaji Momoh-Jimoh Lawal, in his charge to the successful ones, urged them to key into the government’s Transformation Agenda for the overall development of the state.
Lawal also urged them to shun corruption and live above board “so that, together, we can take Kogi State to the next level of development”.
Nine former commissioners among the nominees were asked to take a bow and leave in view of the subsisting approval of the House of their initial appointments.
Six of the seven new nominees were screened and asked to take a bow and leave.
