The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that bye-election to fill the vacant seat in Ibarapa East seat in Oyo Sate House of Assembly would hold on June 2.
The commission announced this in a statement by its Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, on Friday in Abuja.
It said that the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the bye-election as signed by Secretary to the commission, Augusta Ogakwu, had been released.
The vacancy was occasioned by the death of the member representing the constituency in the assembly.
According to the timetable for the bye-election, the conduct of primaries by political parties is scheduled to hold from May 16 to May 19.
The commission also fixed May 29 as the last day for submission of Form CF001 and list of nominated candidates for the election, and May 31 as last day for campaigns.
Ibarapa constituency consists of 10 registration areas (Wards) and 140 polling units.
