Out of favour Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche, scored his 13th goal of the season in Villarreal’s 4-0 routing of Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
This massive win kept alive Villarreal’s hopes of playing in the Europa League next season.
Ik Uche, Jonathan Pereira, Bruno Soriano and Jaume Costa scored for Villarreal, as the Rayo defence collapsed, following the rather harsh sending-off of Anaitz Arbilla.
“It’s lovely to win like this in our last home game,” said Villarreal Coach, Marcelino Garcia.
“Our aim is to finish as high up the table as possible, and we will not relax until we have done that.”
Uche was left out in Stephen Keshi’s provisional 30-man list for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
