A political pressure group, the Possibility Nigeria Project, South West Chapter, on Tuesday endorsed the presidential ambition of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State.
The group gave the endorsement at a ceremony tagged: “All stand for Kwankwaso,” held in Lagos.
Segun Oladapo, the South West Coordinator of the group, said the support for the governor’s aspiration was based on his pedigree.
Oladapo said: “Kwankwaso has done so much as a governor in Kano State.
“He will make Nigeria safe with his wealth of experience as a one-time Minister for Defence.”
Oladapo said Kwankwaso is a good aspirant for the 2015 All Progressives Congress presidential ticket.
Kwankwaso has been having consultations ahead of an official declaration of his intention to run for the office of the president on the platform of the APC.
Oladapo said that Kwankwaso’s fidelity, good governance and display of true sense of accountability and responsibility made the group to endorse him.
He, however, said that the group would support any candidate that eventually emerged as the APC flag bearer if Kwankwaso was unable to pick the ticket.
He said: “Our major concern is for the party to ensure a level playing ground for all the aspirants.
“Kwankwaso is the best man for the job and we want to encourage members of the APC to root for him and ensure he is picked as their candidate.”
