Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State on Wednesday reshuffled his cabinet.
This was made known in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, in Katsina.
Those affected were: Dr Bashir Gambo-Saulawa, who was moved from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Water Resources, and Hajiya Hadiza Yar’Adua, from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Women Affairs.
Other affected commissioners, Kaula-Mohammed said, were Hajiya Zainab Musawa, who was transferred from the Ministry of Women Affairs to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education; Alhaji Hamza Suleiman-Faskari of the Ministry of Water Resources, now moved to the Ministry of Environment; and Alhaji Isa Muhammad-Musa, shifted from the Ministry of Special Duties to the Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education.

Also affected were Alhaji Yusuf Rabiu-Jirdede, transferred from the Ministry of Rural and Social Development to the Ministry of Special Duties; Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed, from the Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education to the Ministry of Rural and Social Development; and Alhaji Musa Adamu-Funtua, has been transferred from the Ministry of Environment to the Ministry of Health.
According to the statement, the governor directed that all the affected commissioners should hand over their current responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries with immediate effect.
It further directed them to assume their new roles without delay to ensure continuity in government operations.
Kaula-Mohammed quoted Governor Radda as expressing confidence that the reorganisations would bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the affected ministries.
“I call on all the stakeholders to support these changes as we work together for the progress and development of our dear state,” Radda urged.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the governor had earlier held a joint meeting with the 34 Local Government Council Chairmen, members of the State House of Assembly and the State Executive Council members over local government autonomy.
The governor then proceeded on a one-month vacation from July 18 to August 18.
He had since handed over the affairs of the state to his Deputy, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, to serve in acting capacity.
