In spite of hitches in travelling schedule and other logistic problems, Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi, is sure of a good outing against Peru in Lima on Thursday in an international friendly.
Keshi, who admitted that he would have loved it if the travelling arrangements had been a perfect one, however, believed that the understanding among the players will be vital to the performance of the team.
“We will do well against Peru, that is why I have told them to take enough rest and tune their minds to the game at hand and forget the rigours of the trip,” Keshi said.
That has expectedly put some burden on Keshi and his crew who now have only one training session to hold before the game.
The coach, however, takes consolation in the fact that the team players know themselves well and it won’t be difficult adjusting to play as a team after just one training session.
Meanwhile, Nigerians hoping to know the kick off time for the international friendly can now heave a sigh of relief and probably plan ahead for the game, which has been scheduled for 8pm Peru time, which is about 2am Nigerian time on Thursday morning.
Eagles Secretary, Dayo Enebi, who was in the advance party for the friendly, said the host picked the time that suits them and he expects one of Nigeria Football Federation broadcast partners, African Independent Television, to transmit the game live.
There already seem to be frenzy about the friendly by Lima residents as quite a sizeable number of them came out to catch a glimpse of the Nigerian side when they arrived at the airport, on arrival at the hotel and during their meals.
