The Commissioner, Ebonyi State Police Command, Augustina Ogbodo, has reacted to the viral video in which some policemen were shown assaulting a civilian in the state.
The Commissioner spoke in a statement on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, in Abakaliki.
In it, she directed “detailed investigation into the incident”.
She added that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against any policeman found culpable.
The statement by Ukandu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said: “The attention of the command has been drawn to a viral video on social media on the uncivil conduct of some police officers attached to the command.
“We unequivocally condemn their unprofessional conduct and necessary administrative measures have already been initiated.
“Also, a detailed investigation into the incident has commenced to ensure justice and appropriate disciplinary action.”
Ogbodo emphasised that the command would not tolerate any form of misconduct or incivility to members of the public by any police officer.
