An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife has remanded a 25-year-old man, Adebisi Kola, for allegedly beating a woman to death.
The police on Friday charged the 25-year-old man with assault and homicide before the Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrate Kikelomo Adebayo did not take Kola’s plea on grounds that his court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the case.
She therefore ordered that he should be remanded in Ile-Ife Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter until June 21, 2024 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that Kola committed the offence on April 15, 2024 around 4pm at Ita-Apata Area, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that Kola beat Omisakin Grace to death.

Kola was represented in court by his counsel, Michael Babatunde.
