CNPP Condemns winner takes all in politics

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties has condemned in strong terms the winner takes all syndrome that pervades the entire states of the country by the ruling party at all levels of government.
The CNPP also called on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the lingering industrial disharmony between it and the Academic Staff Union of Universities without further delay to save the nations’ educational system.
This was the resolution of the party in a communique issued at the end of its maiden meeting under the leadership of the former Governor of the old Kaduna State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarebe Musa, that had in attendance all chairmen, secretaries and women leaders nationwide in Minna, Niger State.
The communique stated that although the CNPP was formed as an opposition political group to confront any party in power, it will not fold its arms and watch any ruling party rule with impunity.
It resolved to restrain undemocratic forces from taking over political power as well as assist any party that wins a free and fair election to perform without abandoning healthy party competition or rivalry, among others.
The group decried the hash security situation that is ravaging the entire country and called on the Federal Government to bring the situation under control with immediate effect.
The CNPP further agreed to sustain the ethics and values upon which the group was formed, namely: to protect the interest of political parties and associations seeking registration as political party.
