A 25-year-old carpenter, Daniel Oliver, was docked in an Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT on Monday for allegedly absconding with motorcycle belonging to a businessman
Oliver who resides in Kuje, Abuja was charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecution Counsel, Abdullahi Tanko, told the court that Sani Shuaibu of Kango village Kuje, Abuja reported the matter at the Kuje police station on Jan. 20.
Tanko said that Shuaibu entrusted his Bajaj motorcycle worth N160,000 to the defendant for commercial purpose.
He said that the defendant absconded with the motorcycle and during investigation he could not give a satisfactory account of the motorcycle.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two reasonable sureties in like sum.
Abdulkarim ordered that the sureties must reside within FCT and adjourned the case until March 22 for hearing.
