Breaking: President Buhari appoints new Environment Minister

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Surveyor Suleiman Hassan as the Minister of the Environment.
This development was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Malam Garba Shehu, on Thursday.
The new appointment follows the resignation of the Minister of State for the Environment, Ibrahim Usman Jibril, who left the Federal Executive Council to ascend the throne of his forefathers as the Emir of Nasarawa in Nasarawa State.
The President, according to Shehu, announced the succession at the Ministry of the Environment at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday.
