The Independent National Electoral Commission has said parties can now resume campaign for the postponed Presidential and National Assembly elections.
INEC announced this on Monday at the end of its management meeting.
The commission had on Saturday through its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, placed embargo on further campaign after it announced a shift in the date of the election from February 16 to February 23.
The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party had before now said they would defy INEC and resume political campaigns.
Both parties said the position of the electoral umpire runs contrary to all known laws of the land.
