Hoodlums who beat and stabbed the Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Patrick Mouboghare, have been arrested.
Muoboghare was ambushed four days ago as he was negotiating his way into the Peoples Democratic Party secretariat and stabbed in his right arm and upper abdomen.
Before his appointment, Muoboghare was a social commentator and human rights’ activist, who rose on the platform to become the state Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The Commissioner is currently recuperating at the Delta State Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area.
The irate youths from Uwheru community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, pounced on the commissioner during the inauguration of Uwheru ward PDP executive members.
Muoboghare hails from the area.
Prior to the arrest of the three suspects on Tuesday, said the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Lucky Uyabeme, an ASP, a suspect, who hails from Ohoro-Uwheru, was arrested in connection with the crime.
The Eagle Online gathered that an ex-President-General of Uwheru Community, one Clement Osieta, who is at large since the crime was committed, was indicted during interrogation.
