All Progressive Grand Alliance chieftain, Chief Martins Agbaso, The Eagle Online gathered, is said to be making underground moves to unseat his estranged political ally, Governor Rochas Okorocha, in the 2015 gubernatorial election in Imo State.
Agbaso, it was learnt, is presently working day and night in all parts of the state to resume as governor at the Douglas Government House in Owerri, the Imo State capital, come 2015.
Their relationship became troubled when Jude Agbaso, the younger brother to Martins, was removed from office as the deputy governor of Imo State following bribery allegations levelled against the America returnee.
What further smeared their friendship was when Governor Okorocha moved from APGA, a political party that gave him the governorship mandate, to the All Progressives Congress.
So pained was Agbaso that he fell apart with Okorocha for what he termed his betrayal of trust.
However, while making secret door-to-door campaign in the state recently, some Imolites have since advised Agbaso to forget the 2015 ambition and support a credible candidate to run for the seat because he has betrayed Imo State people by selling his birth right to Governor Rochas Okorocha.
A close political observer in the state, Chief Sandara Duru, said: “Governor Rochas Okorocha was smarter than Agbaso and he has messed his reputation politically beyond repairs.
“You see, no amount of PR expert engagement, media cleansing that can make him a saint before Imo people.
“As far as the governorship position of Imo State is concerned, the candid truth is that Owelle has succeeded ruining whatever good name he used to have and nobody can ever trust him again.”
