No fewer than four persons were killed again on Friday as the clash between Hausa and Yoruba traders at the popular Mile 12 Market in Lagos State continued unabated.
This was despite the deployment of a combined team of policemen and the military to the area and the imposition of curfew on some parts of the area by the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Some of those affected by the renewed clash alleged that policemen and soldiers stood by as Hausa men went into homes around the area attacking people of Yoruba origin.
Dangerous weapons were said to have been deployed by the invading Hausa men.
However, the police was quick in countering this allegation.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, told The Eagle Online in a telephone interview that this was farther from the truth.
It was gathered that no fewer than 54 persons were arrested on Friday by the military and police, with all those arrested taken to the Lagos State Police Command Criminal Investigation Bureau at Panti, Yaba, Lagos..
