2015: Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly endorses Jonathan

The re-election bid of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2015 is gradually working unto good for him.
The Southern Nigerian Peoples Assembly, comprising people from the three geopolitical zones of the South West, South South and South East have adopted endorsed his perceived ambition.
Rising from its Fourth Annual conference hosted by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State in Asaba on Wednesday, which lasted till 8pm, the conference, chaired by foremost Ijaw leader and the First Republic Minister of Information, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, co-chaired by a former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who is the South East Coordinator and his counterpart from the South West, Bishop Bolanle Gbonigi, hailed the President for seeking re-election.
The five points communiqué read at about 8.30pm on Wednesday among other things lauded Governor Uduaghan and the good people of Delta State for hosting them.
The communiqué, signed by the aforementioned chairmen, further hailed Jonathan over the proposed National Conference, describing the move as “patriotic and highly commendable.”
According to the assembly, the national conference would afford Nigeria the opportunity to exploit and deliberate on issues that would move the country forward, maintaining that “it will not lead to disintegration” as being speculated in some quarters but “make Nigeria stronger.”
The communiqué enjoined the entire Southern governors, irrespective of their political affiliation, to come together to fashion out a way forward instead of constituting a clog in the wheel of progress.
Earlier, Uduaghan, who declared the conference open, aligned with the outcome of the meeting when he said: “No amount of fire of disintegration will consume Nigeria.”
He urged all stakeholders in the project Nigeria to key into the transformational agenda of President Jonathan to make the country a better place for all.
