The 2013/2014 Nigeria Women Premier League will kick off on March 1, the competition’s management board has said.
This was contained in the communique of the 2013 Congress of the league’s board held on Thursday at the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.
The communique, signed by the Chairman, Communique Drafting Committee, Emmanuel Zira, said officials for premier league matches would come from outside the states of the teams involved.
It said the board adopted the formal registration of the Nigeria Women Premier League and Women and Professional Football League with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
The congress also approved the setting up of a three-man committee to look into the existing rules and regulations of the league and come up with necessary amendments.
It also congratulated the national U-17 women team, the Flamingoes. and the U-20 women team, the Falconets, for qualifying to represent Africa at the World Cup in their age grade categories.
