UK Court seizes cash from Alison-Madueke, mother

A Westminster Magistrates Court in the United Kingdom on Monday seized £27,000 cash from Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Deziani Alison-Madueke.
So also was an amount yet to be verified seized from Alison-Madueke’s mother, Beatrice Agama, who was also in court.
A correspondent of the British Broadcasting Corporation, Sam Piranty, who has been tweeting on the development, said the seizure was effected via an application for detention of cash seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
The application was made by the National Crime Agency, Piranty tweeted.
The cash is to be detained until April 5, 2016 under Section 295 of Proceeds of Crime Act.
