Mr Eyitayo Jegede has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ondo State governorship election.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), he was the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state.
Mr. Jegede polled 760 votes to emerge the PDP flagbearer, defeating Saka Lawal, who could only garnered 22 votes.
He was declared winner by the Chairman, PDP primary election committee for Ondo state, Bayesla state Governor Seriake Dickson.
The former Commissioner who resigned his appointment last month to join the governorship race hails from Akure, Ondo Central Senatorial District.
